The Venue

The 2020 conference will be centered in Norm Asbjornson Hall at Montana State University. This beautiful LEED-Certified facility was designed in collaboration with the MSU School of Engineering.  The views from our meeting room will include a stunning panorama of the Gallatin Valley and fabled Bridger Mountains. This will be an inspiring and highly functional new space for our conference.

This building recently won an Innovative Design award from the USGBC in the new construction category. Read more.

Accommodations

Bozeman is blessed with a wide range of accommodations and ample availability. We have made arrangements for a dedicated room block at the Lark Bozeman Motel in beautiful downtown Bozeman. The Lark is ideally suited for the conference: close to the lights and entertainment of downtown, and a lovely 20-minute walk from the conference facility on the MSU campus. We’ll also run a twice-daily shuttle bus from the Lark to the campus. To get the best rate at the Lark, ask for the Habitat X room block.

We also encourage our guests to consider private options: rooms and entire homes on AirBnB and VRBO. To get you started, we’ve done some research on private homes and rooms that are available during the conference. The links below show homes that are within a 25-minute walk from the conference facility on the MSU campus.

Air and Car Travel

If you’ll be flying to Summer National, the best airport is Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN). It’s 11 miles from the airport to downtown Bozeman, with plenty of taxis and ample Uber service. Most downtown hotels offer a free shuttle from the airport. There’s ample free parking at the conference center.

The Best Travel Dates

The Summer National Conference begins Wednesday June 10th at 1:00 pm and continues through Saturday June 13th at 2:00 pm. The Habitat X events are designed to be continuous and all-inclusive experiences, so most participants choose to attend for the entire time. When making airline reservations, we suggest that the latest you should arrive is Tuesday June 9th, and the earliest you should leave is Saturday June 13th at 4:00 pm. Our best recommendation is to dedicate some extra time if you can to stay and look around this amazing part of the world.
